BSNL’s date of formation changed – it will have no impact on the employees.

After 20 years of it's existence, the BSNL Management has issued a letter yesterday, stating that, BSNL was formed on 15-09-2000 and not on 01-10-2000. Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, spoke to Shri J.P. Choudhary, Company Secretary cum GM (Legal) today and got the matter clarified. 

The Company Secretary stated that, BSNL was incorporated under the Companies Act on 15.09.2000 and legally this is the  date of formation of the Company. BSNL started it’s commercial operations on 01.10.2000.  However, in most of the documents, the date of formation of BSNL is being mentioned as 01.10.2000. Legally this is not correct.  Hence, only to correct this mistake, the letter has been issued yesterday. This change in the date, will not have any impact on the employees.
