Allahabad High Court pulls up the UP government for surge of Covid in major cities.

The above of the observations made by the Allahabad High Court, regarding the “very chaotic” condition prevailing in Uttar Pradesh, due to the Covid surge. The Allahabad High Court has ordered the appointment of judicial officers to monitor the situation in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur, Agra, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budhnagar and Jhansi. The court also issued notice to the UP State Election Commission, calling for explanation as to why it failed to implement the Covid guidelines in the recently held Panjayath elections. The court also took note of media reports that 135 teachers who were on election duty, have died. The court said that the government has become complacent.
